Research

Sensor networks offer a powerful combination of distributed sensing, computing and communication. Therefore, they lend themselves to numerous applications and, at the same time, pose plentiful challenges primarily due to their peculiarities and the stringent energy constraint and processing capabilities to which sensing nodes are typically subjected.
The era of ubiquitous sensing has also begun thanks to the proliferation of embedded wireless sensors. For instance, modern smartphones equipped with a variety of sensors allow continuity of care anywhere, anytime, from passively monitoring one or more physiological signals to those that can infer user behavior and underlying psychological conditions. Ubiquitous sensing is expected to enhance awareness of the physical and social contexts of our daily activities, thus providing long-term services and supports for our wellbeing.
The Ubiquitous Sensing Lab (USLab) is part of the School of Information Science & Engineering at University of Jinan lead by Dr. Yuan Zhang. Previously, USLab conducts research mainly on the problems of various wireless sensor networks including mobile sensor networks, smartphone sensor networks, and vehicular sensor networks. Recently, big data techniques for analyzing large biomedical data also become the focus of our research. Interested colleagues as well as students are cordially welcome to participate in the projects and collaborate with us.
 

     经过十余年的发展,传感器网络已经具备了良好的分布式感知、计算和通信能力,因此,其应用日益广泛深入。另一方面,由于传感器节点与生俱来的能量和处理能力等限制,给传感网的研究与开发带来了持续性挑战。
     近年,嵌入式无线传感器的大规模应用,开启了泛在感知的新纪元。比如,智能手机集成了多种传感器,可以随时随地的提供有关医疗保健类服务,从感知生理指标信号到判断用户行为模式和心理状态等。泛在感知能够帮助人们洞悉日常生活中的物理和社会场景,分析预判,从而为大众福祉提供长期的支持与服务。

    USLab是济南大学信息科学与工程学院的一个实验室,主要从事各类无线传感器网络的理论研究和应用开发,如移动传感网、智能手机网络、车载网等。最近,与生物有关的大数据处理与分析技术也成为实验室重点关注的科研方向。热忱欢迎同行和有兴趣同学的加盟与合作。
